This guide walks through exactly what to review, what updates automatically, and how to troubleshoot the most common issues so you can focus on taking signings, not wondering why you are not seeing them.

You're available. Your calendar's open. Your phone is nearby. But the signing offers you expect to see aren't coming through.
Signing volume can vary for many reasons, including how many signings are available in your area at a given time. One thing that's fully in your control is making sure your account is complete and up to date, so you stay eligible whenever offers do become available.
Jot uses your profile information to determine which signing offers you are eligible to receive. If something is missing or out of date, your account may still be active, but you may be eligible for fewer offers. A quick review of a few key settings helps make sure nothing on your end is limiting your eligibility.
These steps keep you eligible for signings that match your profile. They don't guarantee a specific number of offers, since available signings vary by area and over time.
When a signing becomes available, Jot looks at the information in your profile to determine which notaries are eligible to receive the offer. This includes your credentials, availability, notification settings, and travel preferences.
If any part of your account is incomplete or out of date, you may still be active on the platform, but you may not be included when offers are sent out. Even small changes, like an expired document or a disabled notification, can affect whether you're eligible for an offer.
Account status is not about rating or performance. It is about ensuring Jot has accurate, up-to-date information to match signings appropriately and efficiently.
That is why regularly reviewing your account settings (e.g., monthly or quarterly) is important. Keeping your profile up to date helps ensure you are visible for the opportunities that fit your location, availability, and credentials.
Notary commission and E&O insurance
Your notary commission and errors and omissions (E&O) insurance must be active and up to date. If a document either expires or is missing, your account may remain active, but you may not be eligible for new signing offers until the information is updated.
It's a good habit to review expiration dates ahead of time and upload renewals as soon as they are available. This helps avoid gaps that can temporarily affect your offer eligibility.
Background check and NSA exam
Background checks and notary signing agent (NSA) exam results are automatically updated in Jot through a sync with the National Notary Association (NNA). You do not need to manually upload or update this information.
If your background check and exam are current with the NNA, they will reflect in your Jot profile without any additional action on your part. If something appears out of date, it is usually tied to the status of your NNA records rather than your Jot account.
Signing offers are time-sensitive, and notifications play a critical role in ensuring you see them when they arrive. Even if your credentials and availability are up to date, disabled notifications can prevent offers from reaching you.
Make sure both email and text notifications are enabled
Jot sends signing offers through both email and text message. So you don't miss offers that are sent to you, it is important to have both notification types turned on in your account settings.
Not receiving text messages?
If you are not receiving text notifications, you may need to resubscribe. This can happen if your number was opted out at some point, even unintentionally.
To resubscribe, text "YES" to +1-650-735-8285. Once confirmed, text notifications should resume without any additional steps.
This is a common thing to check if you've noticed you're no longer receiving text alerts.
Your mileage and travel preferences help determine which signing offers you are eligible to receive. If your travel radius is set too narrowly, you may be limiting the number of opportunities that match your profile.
Take a moment to review the mileage setting in your Jot account and confirm that it reflects how far you are currently willing to travel. A wider radius can make you eligible for signings in more areas.
If your availability or comfort level with travel has changed, update this setting accordingly. Keeping it current helps Jot match you with opportunities that fit your preferences.
Vacation Mode is a helpful feature when you are unavailable, but it also pauses signing offers while it is enabled. If Vacation Mode is still turned on, you will not receive new offers, even if the rest of your profile is up to date.
Before troubleshooting, confirm that Vacation Mode is turned off if you're available to accept signings.
If you're not seeing offers, review these common causes one more time:
If all of these are correct, your account is in good standing. Offer volume can still vary based on the number of signings available in your area at any given time. If everything looks correct and you're still having trouble, the Jot Help Center provides additional troubleshooting guidance.
Keeping your Jot profile accurate and up to date helps ensure you are positioned for the signing opportunities that match your availability, location, and credentials. A few quick checks help ensure that when signings in your area are a match, you're eligible to be considered.
